This is another one of those Shits and Giggles sculpts. It's half life, sculpted in Chavant. This one took about 12 hours. I never finished the hair.
If anyone is unfamiliar with this character, he's from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, as played by Tim Curry... and yes he's supposed to look like a transvestite. I wanted to cast this one and find someone who is really good at painting to see if they could do the make-up job that he needs to really look like the character. Without the make-up, he just looks like a drag queen.
Oh well, I'm not sure I'll keep this one... I'll give it to the end of the year and then tear it down.

Dr. Frank N Furter is the character from the Rocky Horror Picture show played by the great Tim Curry. Without make-up, it's hard to see the character. I also plan on touching up the likeness - it could be better.

Cheers!!

Awesome - I'll paint it for you if you like :) what size are these portraits? Love the Firestar BTW - loved her as a kid. That was one of the best cartoons ever!

Hey Steve, thanks. I'm glad you like the Dr. Frank. I was just debating the other day, whether to tear him down or not. I'm going to be tearing down a bunch of pieces that have been sitting around for years and he's on the chopping block. I'll consider doing a cast and then maybe we can talk some more about painting him. I'll keep you in mind for it.

Cheers!!

No worries, anytime Alfred :)

Hope you won't be tearing down that Harley sculpt LOL

Anything new up your sleeve at the moment? I was going to ask if you were good at female likenesses, I see you're good with the guys :)

Talk to you soon :)
Take it easy,
Steve :)

The Harley sculpt is a one off in sculpey, so she's not going anywhere. It's just the stuff that's been in clay for more than 2 years.

At the moment, I actually have nothing going. That is to say there's nothing being sculpted right now. I have just ordered 120 Lbs of clay for my next project though. A return to the fine art realm after 2 years of nothing. I'll be sculpting a 3:4 scale full figure nude self portrait of myself. A kind of look at my career as an artist, through the medium of the self portrait. We'll see how it goes. I probably won't be posting pictures of that in other forums, but you will probably find updates here.

I've done a few. I haven't done any 1:6 female heads, but I am planning on doing some practice sculpts. Did you have someone in mind?

Cheers!!

Yes... would it shock you if I said Michelle Pfeiffer? LOL.

Ha ha... no not really. I have to get back into the heads soon, but there's just so much on my plate right now and I'm having a hard time getting the ball rolling. I make small leaps forward followed by periods of long down time (dealing with non art stuff). I need momentum to keep me motivated on projects. I'll keep Pfeiffer in mind if I do any 1:6 heads - I'll send you a copy when I get around to it (but don't hold your breath, it may be a while).

I know what you mean, I'm a writer and all things to do with art are based on inspiration :) You're a brilliant artist though, just look at your positive feedback! :) Thanks, I'll hold you to that LOL Pfeiffer to me is one of our generations most beautiful women. I read as well on Wki that her face is set to certain angles which show her (in our generation)to have the most beautiful face - it gave all her stats - the width of eyes, mouth, - it was really intresteing - well, to a Pfeiffer fan like me anyways. That reminds me, I've got around to painting your beautiful version of Selina - I want to make sure my painting skills are top notch though, so I'll be practicing on some other kits first :)
